Hi, my name is Dr. Mark Peterson and I’m a spine specialist based in Philadelphia, PA.

I have over 35 years of clinical experience and well over 18,000 patient hours.

Throughout my career, I’ve treated thousands of patients who came to me with conditions like…

✓ Spondylolisthesis (degenerative and isthmic, Grades 1 through 4)

✓ Spinal stenosis, frequently combined with spondylolisthesis

✓ Sciatica from vertebral slippage

✓ Lower back instability and chronic pain

✓ Failed back surgery and post fusion chronic pain

✓ Pars defects and adjacent segment disease

You name it. I’ve seen it all.

The majority of my spondylolisthesis patients have a slip at the L4-L5 or L5-S1 level.

These are the two most common locations for vertebral slippage, and the two levels where fusion is most often recommended.

Most of my patients have already tried physical therapy, cortisone injections, painkillers, sometimes even fusion surgery, and they’re still in pain.

From mild lower back stiffness…

to that unmistakable feeling that your back is about to give out…

to chronic burning down the leg every time you stand for more than a few minutes…

to mornings so painful it takes hours before you feel human…

to…

Pain So Bad They Can’t Sit Through Dinner

But it wasn’t until recently that I truly understood why so many of my spondylolisthesis patients never got better, no matter what we tried.

And just as important, why so many of them ended up with persistent back pain even after a “successful” fusion.

It all started with a breakthrough I had not too long ago.

One night I was going through clinical studies on spondylolisthesis outcomes and post fusion recovery, and I stumbled across something that stopped me cold.

The Real Reason Your Vertebra Keeps Slipping, and Why the Pain Hasn’t Stopped

Everyone knows the standard story about spondylolisthesis.

Years of wear and tear. A weakening of the ligaments and facet joints. Sometimes a small fracture in the bone called a pars defect.

Eventually one vertebra starts sliding forward over the one below it.

Most commonly at L4-L5, sometimes at L5-S1. The slip narrows the space around the nerves. The nerves get pinched. Pain radiates down the leg.

That part is true.

But here’s what that story doesn’t explain.

Why is the pain always worst first thing in the morning?

Why does it ease by the afternoon, only to creep back later in the day?

Why does the slip keep getting worse, Grade 1 to Grade 2 to Grade 3, over the years?

And why does the pain so often come back even after a perfect fusion locks the slipped vertebra in place?

So why hasn’t your back actually stabilized?

Here’s what I found that night, and it changed how I think about spondylolisthesis entirely.

The damage doesn’t happen while you’re on your feet. It happens while you sleep.

Your lower back has a natural curve.

Your mattress doesn’t.

So when you lie down, your shoulders and hips sink in, and your lower back is left hanging over a gap with nothing underneath it.

That gap sits right at L4-L5 and L5-S1.

Exactly where the slip is.

In a healthy spine, that doesn’t matter much.

But with spondylolisthesis, that vertebra has already come loose. So all night, it hangs there unsupported. It sinks into the gap. And it presses down on the nerve roots underneath it.

All night long. Hour after hour.

During the day, you never stay in one position long enough for that pressure to build.

You stand, sit, walk, shift your weight, and the nerves get a break every few minutes.

That’s why the pain eases as the day goes on.

But at night, you lie still for hours with that loose vertebra hanging over the same gap.

No shifting. No break.

And night after night, that same pressure works on the slipped segment itself.

That’s why the slip can keep moving, Grade 1 to Grade 2 to Grade 3.

That is how spondylolisthesis gets worse.

And here’s what the research showed me that night.

In nearly every spondylolisthesis patient I had ever treated, the records said the same thing.

Pain worst in the morning. Better by the afternoon. Every night, their nerves were being pressed on for hours, and every morning they woke up already injured.

And nothing you do during the day changes that.

Not rest. Not stretching. Not physical therapy. Not even surgery. Not with anything most of us have ever been trained to use.

It happens in the one place no doctor ever thinks to look.

Your bed.

Why Nothing You Tried Worked

And that explains why everything you’ve tried has only given you temporary relief, or no relief at all.

Physical therapy strengthens the muscles around the spine.

But no amount of strength fills the gap under your lower back while you sleep. That’s why your therapist could not stabilize your slip with exercises, no matter how disciplined you were.

Cortisone and epidural injections reduce inflammation around the nerve. But they do nothing about the loose vertebra that sinks back onto that nerve every night.

Each shot lasts shorter than the one before. The slip keeps grinding.

Painkillers and nerve pills mask the pain signal at the brain level.

They do absolutely nothing for the vertebra that hangs unsupported every night, or for the slip that’s progressing.

Chiropractic adjustments temporarily shift the vertebrae back into position. But after one night hanging over that gap, everything is right back where it started by morning. In some spondylolisthesis cases, adjustments can actually worsen the slip.

TENS units and stimulation devices work for 15 minutes a day.

The pressure builds all night long.

No device you use on the couch for a few minutes can cover the hours you spend asleep.

Fusion surgery, TLIF, PLIF or ALIF, locks the slipped vertebra in place with metal hardware. The bone is fixed. The slip at that level is mechanically corrected.

But it does nothing about the gap.

Every night your lower back still hangs over the same empty space, and now the levels above and below the fusion take all of that pressure.

This is why I see so many fusion patients back in my office a year or two later with persistent back pain, instability that won’t quit, and adjacent segment disease at the level above or below the fusion.

The slip is fixed. The nights are not.

None of these treatments were designed to do the one thing your spine actually needed.

None of them did anything about what happens to your spine while you sleep.

What Happens When Your Spine Is Held Through the Night

When the spine is finally supported through the night, something remarkable happens.

The gap is filled. The vertebra is supported. The nerves get hours without pressure for the first time in years.

The constant sliding sensation calms down.

The “going to give out” feeling fades.

The heavy, flu like ache in the morning starts to lift.

Patients describe it the same way again and again: “I woke up and my back felt held. Like something had been watching over it all night.”

There’s a well documented pattern, the Nocturnal Collapse Cycle, that researchers in spinal rehabilitation have been studying for years.

Their findings are clear.

Chronic back pain rarely resolves until the nights are addressed. And in spondylolisthesis patients where the spine is supported through the night, the progression often slows or stops.

The vertebra holds its position.

Some patients postpone or cancel their planned fusion entirely.

Your body has been capable of healing the entire time.

It just never got the one thing it needed: support while it sleeps.

But the window doesn’t stay open forever.

Every night the pressure goes on, the slip can move a little further.

The nerves get a little more damaged.

The slipped segment gets a little looser.

And eventually, the damage becomes much harder to reverse.

How Do You Actually Support Your Spine at Night?

That was my next question.

And the answer isn’t what you’d expect.

Think of your lower back like a bridge with an arch.

During the day, you never stay still long enough for that arch to sag.

At night, it spans an empty space for hours with nothing underneath it.

The stones are fine. The arch is fine.

It just has nothing holding it up.

No amount of exercise will change that.

Exercise only works on your spine while you’re awake to use it.

You cannot stretch that gap closed while you sleep.

You cannot strengthen it closed while you sleep.

You cannot will it closed while you sleep.

You have to give your spine support from the outside, for the entire night.

And there is only one thing designed to do exactly this.

It’s called a clinical lumbar support.

Rehabilitation clinics in Copenhagen have used this kind of night positioning with spine patients for years.

But until recently, it was only available as custom fitted equipment inside specialist clinics, at hundreds of dollars per fitting.

That changed recently.

What I Started Recommending to My Patients

When I first started seeing this research, I knew what my patients’ spines needed at night.

What I didn’t have was something that could do it at home.

After testing support after support that flattened the moment I pressed on it, I came across a small company here in the US called Alignex.

Firm, shaped to the lower back, and built to hold its shape through an entire night.

The first patient I gave it to was Linda.

She had been my patient for nine years.

Grade 2 spondylolisthesis at L4-L5, and a fusion scheduled for the spring.

She came through my door holding on to the wall, the way she had for the last two years.

Honestly, I wasn’t sure it would do much.

“I can’t promise you anything,” I told her.

“But try this before your surgery.”

Six weeks later she was back in my office for her pre surgery appointment.

She walked in without holding on to the wall.

She told me she was sleeping through the night for the first time in two years.

And she asked me if she still needed the fusion.

I didn’t know what to tell her.

So I did what any doctor should do when one patient surprises him.

I ordered more and asked 47 of my spondylolisthesis patients, people for whom everything else had failed, to sleep on it every night for 30 days.

Most of them reported less pain in the morning within the first two weeks.

The majority said the “going to give out” feeling had eased by the end of the month.

And several of them asked to postpone surgeries they had already scheduled.

Here’s why it worked when nothing else had.

The Alignex Pro is not just a firmer back support.

It is medical grade, and it does two things no ordinary back support can do, at the same time, all night long.

I’ll explain what that means, and why it matters specifically for spondylolisthesis.

How the Alignex Pro Works

Other products on the market do one of two things.

They either cushion the lower back, without actually filling the gap underneath it. Or they prop the back up for a while, without staying in place long enough to support the slipped segment all night.

Neither approach works long term, because spondylolisthesis at night is a two part problem.

Part one: the gap.

When you lie flat, your lower back hangs over an empty space and the loose vertebra sinks into it.

That gap needs to be filled.

Part two: it lasts all night.

Even if something fills the gap for a while, the moment it flattens or slides away, the pressure starts building again.

A few good minutes can’t make up for hours of pressure.

You need to address both.

At the same time. Every single night.

That’s exactly what the Alignex Pro was built to do.

First: it fills the gap.

The moment you lie down, the Alignex Pro fills the space under your lower back. The loose vertebra has something underneath it.

It stops sinking. Pressure stays off the nerves. Most patients feel it within the first few minutes.

A deep sense of relief in the lower back. Like something that has been hanging in the air every night for years can finally rest.

Second: it keeps filling it until morning.

And it doesn’t stop after an hour.

The Alignex Pro keeps its shape under your full body weight.

It doesn’t flatten. It doesn’t slide out from under you at 2 AM.

Hour after hour. Night after night.

And the nerves that have been pressed on every night for years finally get the break they never had.

Time it takes out of your day: none.

You’re asleep anyway.

That’s it.

Here’s What Happens During a Night

Here’s what happens when you use it.

You slide the Alignex Pro under your lower back as you go to bed.

That’s all.

The first night it may feel unfamiliar.

But almost right away, you can feel that something is holding you.

Not a soft pillow giving way. Something firm and steady under the part of your back that has been unsupported for years.

Then you sleep. When you wake up the next morning, most patients describe a feeling they don’t quite have words for.

“Stable.” “Rested.” “The first morning in years I didn’t have to brace myself to stand up.””

That’s your spine finally getting a night without that pressure.

You use it in your own bed. While you sleep. No appointments.

No copays. No recovery time.

Each night gives your spine the support it has been missing for years.

And with consistent use, most users start feeling significant stability and pain reduction within their first few weeks.

Had my fusion in 2022. By last spring, a second surgeon was already talking about the level above it. My daughter sent me this article. Five weeks on the Alignex Pro and I stood through my grandson's entire baseball game on Saturday. Didn't look for the bleachers once.

Grade 1 spondylolisthesis at L4-L5 for six years. Every morning I woke up aching like I had the flu, and it took me until lunch to feel human. I honestly expected nothing from a back cushion. By the second week I was making breakfast before my wife even got up. That hasn’t happened in years.

I'm 70, and stenosis took over everything. My legs would burn and go numb before I got anywhere. The pain was all I could think about. Not my garden, not my grandchildren, not the woman I used to be. Now I sleep straight through the night, and I wake up thinking about the day ahead instead of how I'll get through it.

The Alignex Pro Has Already Helped Over 38.000 People

And I’m confident it can help you too.

Just imagine…

❌ No more standing up and feeling your spine shift

❌ No more “is this the day my back gives out” worry

❌ No more lying awake at 3 AM trying to find a position that doesn’t hurt

❌ No more mornings where it takes hours before you feel human

❌ No more dreading a fusion that may or may not solve the problem

❌ No more being told to “just live with it” until you’re ready for surgery

That’s what happens when your spine is finally held through the night.

You don’t just get relief. You get your spine back.

That’s all possible with the Alignex Pro.

And the best part?

It doesn’t take a single minute out of your day.

All you need to do is slide it under your lower back when you go to bed, and let the Alignex Pro do the work while you sleep.

How Can You Get Your Hands on the Alignex Pro?

And what’s the price?

The first question is the tricky one.

Because it takes a lot of time and money to make each one.

From the specialist materials that have to hold their shape under a full night of body weight… to the testing every unit goes through before it’s cleared to ship…

Alignex is at constant risk of running out of stock now in October.

The Alignex team is working around the clock to keep up with demand.

But they are currently struggling to keep up.

The demand is just too big.

Patients who have tried the Alignex Pro and felt the difference are now ordering more for their spouses, their parents, their friends.

All of this makes stock run out every time a new shipment comes in.

If you are reading this article, it means there are still a few units left in stock.

Otherwise this page would have been taken down.

But I cannot guarantee for how much longer.

The Alignex Pro Is Not Available Anywhere Else Except the Official Website

You will not find it in retail stores. You will not find it on Amazon or eBay.

If you see something similar, that’s a cheap knockoff, likely a foam pillow being marketed as something it isn’t.

The only place to buy the real, authentic Alignex Pro is the official website.

Given how simple it is to use, and how quickly patients are feeling relief, it is worth every penny.

To put it into perspective, a single visit to a spine specialist can cost you $300.

A 12 week course of physical therapy would run you $3,600.

Add in the injections that wore off, the medications, the consultations, and we’re easily into five figures.

And a TLIF fusion?

That’s between $60,000 and $150,000.

When I asked Alignex what it would cost my patients, $299 would not have surprised me given the research behind it.

But they didn’t build it to sell another expensive medical product that only a few people could afford.

They built it so every spondylolisthesis patient could support their spine at night, before they’re forced into surgery.

So the Alignex Pro is priced at just $129.

Already cheaper than a single visit to a spine specialist.

But that’s not what you’ll pay today.

Remember, There Is Zero Risk.

The only risk you could possibly face is the risk of pain, instability, and regret if you miss this opportunity.

Look, I’ve spent over 35 years treating spondylolisthesis patients.

And the ones who did best all had one thing in common.

They stopped waiting and started giving their spine what it actually needed.

That’s what this is about.

Not another temporary fix.

Not another thing that masks the pain and wears off by dinner.

Not another six months of physical therapy that can’t touch what happens at night.

Not necessarily another surgery that may or may not solve the problem.

This is about finally giving your spine the support it has been missing every night, so it can do what it has always been capable of doing.

Some end up needing a second fusion within a decade.

Some end up with permanent nerve damage they cannot reverse.

Some just… stop trying.

They accept that this is who they are now.

I’m not saying this to scare you.

I’m saying it because I’ve watched it happen, and it does not have to.

Undeniably Effective

I honestly can't believe the difference. I'm 67 and for the last two years I'd more or less written myself off. That foggy, almost queasy feeling in my head from never sleeping properly is gone. The shooting pain down my leg that made me hold onto the kitchen counter just to stand up. Gone too. I'm playing with my grandkids on the floor without thinking about how I'll get back up. I feel like myself again and Im so thankful I tried it.

This lumbar pillow has changed my life. I cannot say that about many things at my age. My daughter ordered it for my birthday and I almost did not use it because I figured nothing would help anymore.
